Coffee hour is being restarted as of 27 February.
At St. Matthew's, small teams of parishioners provide refreshments for our Coffee Hour on a rotating basis. We gather in our hall and back patio immediately following Sunday Divine Liturgy services. In order to reduce the risk of COVID transmission in crowded situations, we have simplified these events. This is still a wonderful time for fellowship and getting to know each other better.
Please join us. See Rosemarie K. to join a team - no experience needed! We train!
COFFEE HOUR ROTATION
Please DO NOT bring food or drink unless it is your scheduled day!
COFFEE HOUR INSTRUCTIONS
Sunday Coffee Hour is held in our hall and back patio. Our church council wants to keep things very simple and quick for now. The church students will have their drinks and snacks and then join their Sunday School classes.
THE COFFEE
Make the coffee/decaf/water; directions are posted in the kitchen.
The large pot takes one minute per cup to brew - start it early.
Bring a quart of 1/2 n 1/2 or milk for the coffee.
Use the large coffee pot on the cart for coffee and the smaller pot for hot water.
Roll the cart to the back left side of the hall and plug them in there.
Brew a white pot of decaf in the kitchen and move it to the coffee cart after DL.
Arrange the coffee “fixings” (tea bags, creamers, sugars, stirrers) on the table in front of the hall doors
and the juices on the table by the kitchen.
THE SNACKS
Food should be only easy to eat, grab-and go items. Prepared snacks (popcorn, chips, cookies, cheese, muffins, veggies/fruit in small cups or muffin liners, sliced cakes and the like) work well. Anything that people can pickup and walk away with is good.
A snack - not lunch. (The kitchen is still “closed” so nothing hot or needing serving).
The goal is to keep folks moving along to support social distancing and not cause any lines.
AND AFTER
As always, clean up, rinse the coffee pots and leave them upside down to drain/air dry in the kitchen.
Refill the teas and sweeteners if needed. Take any extra food/milk home unless you have arranged with
the next week’s team to use them.
Notify Rosemarie K., Susan P., or Tina L. if any supplies are running low.
Thank you for volunteering so we can hold a weekly Coffee Hour!
